Coronavirus update. In the UK we are on certain restricted movements, but the postal service carries on. Luckily I am near my local Post Office, and intend to carry on posting, obviously within guidelines and in a social distancing way! Please bear in mind there may be delays, and things may take a bit longer than normal.
Liven up your book shelf with this book nook shelf insert. Here we have a man, or you can choose a woman, reading in the library in a cosy armchair with its cushion, with a footstool, and a glass of maybe gin and tonic? perched on a pile of books, I handmade all these items. There are 8 LED fairy lights in the ceiling and it really glows when turned on in the dark, the background is a photo quality image of a library. The chair is yellow with a child’s drawings on it . Everything is upcycled here, I made the chair, footstool, little table and drink from upcycled things, hubby is rather sad at losing his old silk ties that now cover the chairs, but he never wears them anyway! The book the woman is reading may vary from the photo.
The battery pack is attached at the back for ease of changing the batteries, and the switch is at the top of the book at the end of the spine.
The book is black with black finishing , and measures almost 9 1/2″ tall, the book is just over 6″ deep, almost 7″ including battery pack, almost 6″ wide at the front then tapers towards the back. It uses 2 AA batteries.
Hand crafted by me, taking quite a few hours, and made from upcycled books, so please allow for minor blemishes . Yes I treasure books but lots of unwanted hardback books end up in landfill as they can’t be recycled. Rest assured the pages from the books I use have been removed from the spine, and recycled.
